Making Paracentesis Better & Safer with POCUS

Together these two techniques increase the likelihood of obtaining a sample of ascites while avoiding risk of vascular injury. This is a must have skill for anyone who performs paracentesis.

This #FocusPocus #OnePager shows you how to improve speed, safety, and success rate of your LP using POCUS to guide needle placement. The high frequency probe is used to identify & mark the midline, then identify and mark the correct interspace. Once you’ve found/confirmed the landmarks, X marks the spot for perfect needle positioning.
